In this episode, I sit down and have a chat with my "first" karate instructor - Mike Judd 5th Dan BCKA.
I have known Mike nearly 20 years and he is the true definition of a Sensei in my eyes. He has been my guide in life since I entered his dojo for the first time as a 9 year old child.
He shares some insights into his journey from "traditional" karate to applied karate and we also take some side roads to talk about student/teacher loyalty, ippon-kumite, pad-work, influential martial artists & books and many other topics.
For those who want to check out more of Mike's karate, you can visit his website - www.appliedkarate.co.uk
